Jaco’s culinary scene is a true delight, offering diverse dining experiences. Indulge in everything from traditional Mexican-style fish tacos to exquisite dishes influenced by Latin and Mediterranean flavors. Whether you're a surfer catching the perfect wave or a foodie exploring the local and international cuisine, Jaco promises an unforgettable experience.

  • KoKo Gastro Bar

It's hands down our favorite place. They serve delicious tuna steaks, tuna tacos, ceviche, burgers, and more. They also have great cocktails. It's best to go early and catch the sunset. If possible, walk down and request a table on the beach. They also offer a wonderful breakfast menu, so you can relax and enjoy a morning meal with mimosa while watching the day begin.

    ·       Walk down the beach (to the left), and it’s right behind the bright yellow lifeguard stand. You need to cross the creek so sandels are recommended if walking on beach

    ·       Main Street: take a right over the bridge, take the first right, and follow along the road – turn to the beach path to the restaurant

  • ZonaK

This charming breakfast spot in Jaco has become our absolute favorite. The delightful aroma of freshly cooked food fills the air, and we're thrilled to note that the talented chef is a woman. With their doors open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this place has quickly become our go-to spot for any meal. Additionally, we can't help but indulge in their delectable baked goods, which come highly recommended for a delightful treat.

Main Street—take a left and go down about 2+ blocks and will be on your left hand side of main. +506 2643 2550

  • La Artesanal

Charming café with fantastic coffee drinks, fresh smoothies, and delicious breakfast options. This café is open and the food is fresh, but it may take a little longer to prepare. However, it's definitely worth the wait. I personally enjoy their bagel sandwich or breakfast burrito. You'll often see locals dining here.

Main Street, take a left and go down about 4 blocks. It will be on your right.

  • Pachis Pan & Bakery

A fantastic place on the main street to enjoy donuts, churros, and other sweets. I highly recommend making a stop here at least once!

Main street – take a right over the bridge and go down about 3+ blocks on your right.

  • El Point

This restaurant is right on the beach, and the chef is from the marina. Even though it looks like a hut, the food is amazing. It's best to go early and enjoy the sunset on the beach while the kids can run around. We love ceviche, lobster, and whole-fried snapper. This is one of our go-to restaurants when we are spending time in Jaco!

Take a taxi to El Point, which will cost about $4 since it's located at the other end of the beach. The front guard can call a taxi for you, and the restaurant can call for one home. You can also order Uber in Jaco

  • Ohana Sushi

It's hands down one of the best sushi restaurants in Jaco. It's unique in that it's made from shipping containers. I love the shrimp ebi bites, and the tuna is exceptional. This restaurant is kid-friendly and offers options for kids who don't eat sushi.

  • Jerah Thai

Thai cuisine in Jaco is considered some of the best in the country. Not only does it offer exceptional Thai cuisine in Costa Rica, but it also has a wide variety of vegan options. All dishes can be customized to meet your specific preferences. Kids will love the experience; it feels like eating in a tree fort.

  • El Hicaco

El Hicaco Seafood is on the beach and has a lovely setting. It has a higher price point, but I recommend the lobster. We go here only occasionally but do enjoy dining here. Kids can also get to the beach and play.

  • Graffiti Restro Cafe + Wine Bar

Graffiti has a higher price point and more Americanized pricing. My favorite dishes are beef filet rolled in chocolate and coffee and grilled, the tuna tower, and lobster corn dogs. The cocktails are also amazing. You can't go wrong with dinner here.

  • Amancio's Paninin

Fabulous Italian Deli just up the street from our condo is known for its selection of Italian deli meats like prosciutto, mortadella, salami, and other cured meats, as well as a variety of cheeses, including provolone and mozzarella, and vegetables on crusty bread, a quintessential Italian deli experience. Excellent option for lunch near the pool.

Up the street and cross the street - deli will be on your left hand side.

  • Amara

Amara offers Mediterranean food in a relaxed atmosphere on Main Street. You can choose to sit upstairs outdoors or downstairs in air conditioning. We highly recommend trying the hummus with avocado & feta, celery salad, and the gazpacho. The fish special is always fresh and locally caught. It’s conveniently located, and the staff is, once again, wonderful.

Right on the main street and before the bridge on the right-hand side - this is the closes restaurant to our condo.

  • Amancio's Pizza & Pasta

This Italian restaurant offers a classic menu featuring a variety of fresh, handmade pasta dishes and wood-fired pizzas, along with a selection of Italian appetizers, salads, and desserts. I highly recommend the pasta made inside the Parmesan wheel - a fun experience with kids and adults alike.

    Directions:

Right on Main, over the bridge, and down about four blocks on your left-hand side.
